1. Overview

Tidyup is a marketplace that connects customers seeking home cleaning services with independent cleaners. By using Tidyup, you agree to these terms.

2. Bookings

When you book a clean, you agree to provide accurate home details and ensure safe access for the cleaner. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment may incur a fee.

3. Cleaner standards

Cleaners on Tidyup are independent contractors, not employees. We vet all cleaners with background checks, but we are not liable for their individual actions beyond our satisfaction guarantee.

4. Satisfaction guarantee

If you are not happy with a clean, report it within 24 hours and we will coordinate a complimentary re-clean or credit at our discretion.

5. Theft, loss & liability contingency

Every cleaner on Tidyup passes an identity check and a criminal background check before their first job. Theft is grounds for immediate, permanent removal from the platform and we cooperate fully with law enforcement.

If you believe something was taken or damaged during a Tidyup clean, report it within 72 hours of the appointment by opening the booking and tapping Report an incident. We will:

  • Acknowledge your report within one business day and open an investigation.
  • Suspend the assigned cleaner from new bookings while we investigate.
  • Reimburse verified loss or damage up to $2,000 per incident through the Tidyup Protection Guarantee, subject to a filed police report for theft claims.
  • Escalate to our insurance carrier for claims exceeding the guarantee cap.

The guarantee does not cover cash, jewelry or watches over $500 in value, firearms, or items not secured before the appointment. Customers are responsible for storing high-value items out of sight prior to a clean.

6. Payments & cleaner payouts

Tidyup collects the full booking price from the customer at the time of service. Funds are then split on a commission basis:

  • 80% to the cleaner who completes the job.
  • 20% to Tidyup as a platform fee covering matching, payment processing, customer support, background checks, and the Protection Guarantee.

The split is calculated on the final booking total (including extras and any approved adjustments). Payouts to cleaners are released after the customer's 24-hour satisfaction window closes without a dispute.

7. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Tidyup after changes means you accept the new terms.
